Exhibit Guide (PT)

Manager of Public Programs
Hours: 
Part-time

Responsibilities:

  • The Exhibit Guide will assist in maintaining a safe, clean, fun and educational museum experience for all visitors and volunteers.

  • Ensure a high quality experience for all visitors.
  • Track consumable supplies relevant to the exhibits, birthday parties and enrichment boxes low.
  • Conduct sanitation tasks to ensure the cleanliness of the exhibits and the museum.
  • Assist with museum rentals (e.g. birthday parties) and special events regarding the public, the museum environment and the room setup.
  • Interact with, be responsive to children, parents and teachers and facilitate the learning experience through our programs and exhibits.
  • Set and reset exhibit areas.
  • Orient field trip groups and facilitate birthday parties.
  • Attend monthly training, department and staff meetings.
  • Communicate floor issues or concerns to appropriate manager.
  • Perform other position related duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Public Programs or the Manager of Public Programs

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with young children preferred

  • Basic math, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Stand, sit, bend, squat and/or kneel for significant portions of each day
  • Basic understanding of customer service
  • Must be available to work evening and weekend hours
