Adventures in Art
Designed to provide inspiration, Adventures in Art encourages children to explore their artistic creativity through self-guided programs that change monthly. Inside the Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Art studio, art exploration stations allow children to express themselves through:
- Easel Art: art mediums such as markers, chalk, paint will be available to explore 2-D visual arts
- Make It & Take It Art: art materials will be provided for children to create take-home artwork
- Loose Parts: materials that can be moved, carried, combined, redesigned, lined up, and taken apart and put back together in multiple ways, inspiring imagination and creativity, and allowing children to make choices on their own terms and in their own unique way
- Drop-In Art Sessions (scheduled weekly at designated times): staff-led art activities exploring various processes of art making through mixed media, recycled arts, pottery wheel, printmaking, silk screening and more
