Artist in Residence: Drum Making

Artist Jen Halman will engage students through a hands-on, interactive session that blends art, music, and movement. Guests will their own instruments using recycled materials and decorate their instruments with colorful supplies, exploring creativity while learning the value of upcycling.
Once completed, children can use their instruments and djembe drums to explore music-making. Jen will introduce African rhythms like Kuku and Fanga Alafia. Learn vibrant dances using colorful scarves, while gaining exposure to African traditions.
