Play Attention
Programming for Military Families
Through our Play Attention program, the Museum works collaboratively with community organizations serving veterans and active duty military personnel, such as Thresholds Veterans Project, Great Lakes Naval Base Child Development Centers, USO, The Road Home, Illinois Joining Forces, and Easter Seals Veterans Community OneSource, to invite military veterans, active duty military personnel, and their families to the Museum to explore and play in the exhibits free of charge while the Museum is closed to the general public.
These events will occur on specific Sunday afternoons to be announced throughout the year and will provide a safe, non-threatening environment for veterans and active duty military families to enjoy quality family time.
During the event you and your family members will have access to all exhibits. Museum staff and volunteers will be available for play support and guidance. Additional activities and resources specifically for military and veteran families will be provided.
If you are a veteran or an active military personnel and would like to receive e-mail notifications and invitations to Play Attention events, please contact us.
